This week we are excited to see Data Science Society's very first event and we also have a very important PUBLICAN SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT regarding the first york.pub joint event - Pub Lightning. 📣📣📣📣

york.pub | The date for 'Pub Lightning', our flagship evening of staff, student and PHD lightning talks has now been confirmed as Wednesday 22nd of October.

This should be an amazing opportunity to hear about what your friends, lecturers, colleges and classmates have been getting up to in their spare time with talks that could range from PHDs to PHP - all 10 minutes or less.

We really want to make this a success and hopefully it will become a (somewhat regular) calendar staple but that depends on having YOU. All of the event details including 'Add to Calendar' at lightning.york.pub.

If you would like to share something interesting: from a summer internship to a weekend curiosity then tell us at cfp.lightning.york.pub. Closing date is 17:00 on Monday 6th October. Responses after this may be considered for a future talk.
